Who the hell did this casting? James Marsden and Minka Kelly as Jack & Jackie? You guys know I’m in love with John Cusack and I’m sure he’s done his best but…. fucking Nixon? Alan Rickman as Reagan?
God, I could go on but it’s just too much. It’s like they hired an excess of A and B list actors and didn’t have enough parts to fit them all, so they just threw them in whatever historical/presidential figure that they had left!

Gerald Olin: My concern here is not for the hotel. My concern here is not for you. Frankly, selfishly, I don’t want you to check into 1408 because I don’t want to clean up the mess. My training is as a manager, not a coroner. Under my watch, there have been four deaths. Four. After the last one, I forbade any guest from checking into 1408 ever again. Grievously, in it’s ninety-five year existence, the hotel has seen seven jumpers, four overdosers, five hangings, three mutilations […] in your investigation, did you discover the twenty-two natural deaths that have occurred in 1408?
Mike Enslin: Natural deaths?
Gerald Olin: Ah, didn’t find out about them because the newspapers don’t print anything about them. Hmm. All told, there have been 56 deaths in 1408. […] The causes of death in 1408 range from heart attacks, stroke, drowning—
Mike Enslin: Drowning?
Gerald Olin: Yes, one Mr. Grady Miller drowned in his chicken soup.
Mike Enslin: That’s hard to do, how did he do that?
Gerald Olin: How, indeed.
